Championship pairs won by Nanai, Morgan

ALEX Nanai and Rip Morgan won the Cosmopolitan Snooker Club’s Ray Swann Championship Pairs last Saturday.

Nanai and Morgan beat Neil Robinson and Tony Cleaver two frames to nil in the best-of-three final.

Eight pairs took part in the tournament. Those to make it to the semifinals were Rex Kennedy and Tony Murphy, Nanai and Morgan, Robinson and Cleaver, and Charlie Atkins and Busby Akuhata.

Nanai and Morgan defeated Atkins and Akuhata 2-0, and Robinson and Cleaver defeated Kennedy and Murphy 2-1.

Coming up are the Poverty Bay B Grade championships on July 6 and the Poverty Bay A and C Grade championships on July 13.
