Callahan proud of Kaiya

Gisborne Trampoline Club’s Kaiya Huta finished 29th from 64 trampoline competitors at the world age-group championships in St Petersburg, Russia.

Huta was competing in the 15-to-16-year division and, while Huta was disappointed with his placing, coach Doug Callahan said he was “proud of Kaiya”.

“He was in a very tough group,” Callahan said.

“He then had to compete in the 17-21yr age group on synchronised, with Auckland’s Ethan Bai, and they finished 17th.”
