Rena van Diest (right) and sisters Sam (left) and Amanda Miller (not pictured) ticked an item off their bucket lists when they competed in the New Zealand masters trampoline championships in Whanganui.
“They are all former Gisborne Trampoline Club competitors and decided to have a go at the masters,” said
Gisborne club coach Doug Callahan.
“They were all in the 30-35 age group and won six medals. Sam won gold on tramp and double-mini, Rena was runner-up in both events and Amanda, who now lives in Tauranga, was third in both.”
Callahan said the trio started with the club 16 years ago and had kept their good form.
“They came and asked me what I thought about them entering and I said, ‘Go for it’. But that’s it, no more competitions. They’re happy to end their careers on the podium.”
