Campion college beat a much-improved Bohemians side 1-0 in Women's Eastern League football on Sunday.

Bohemians coach Graham Maclean said all 11 players put in a fantastic effort against a very good Campion side.

Bohemians stand-in goalkeeper Morgan Andrews had a “brilliant” game, Maclean said.

She saved numerous shots from a Campion side restricted in the first half to shooting from long range, and the game was scoreless at halftime.

The tide turned in the second half, when Campion coach Phil Allan made a couple of tactical changes.

His decision to bring Grace Levy out of goal paid off, as she scored the only goal of the match.

It came from an attack down the left flank, where Dara Mulrooney beat a player and crossed for Levy to slot the ball home.

Lucy Allan was in the thick of the action again for Campion and was well supported by Miah Somerton.

With minutes to play, Campion replacement keeper Imogen Amor-Bendall made a telling save to keep Campion's lead.

For Bohemians, Teah Kahaki, Jess Duncan and Sommer Murrell played well.

Gisborne Laundry Services Wainui Riverina took control of their game against Tatapouri Marist Thistle from the start.

Player-coach Lizzie Hall scored the first goal within the opening five minutes, and Wainui Riverina went on to win 13-0 at Harry Barker Reserve on Sunday.

The safe hands of Marist Thistle goalkeeper Mandy Owen kept Wainui Riverina from adding to their tally for 20 minutes.

Wainui Riverina's Sophie Hemmington had a strong game. She influenced play all over the field and was rewarded with a goal five minutes before halftime.

An own goal late in the first half contributed to the 8-0 halftime scoreline.

Marist Thistle's Bridget Bethel worked hard in defence, and made some good attacking plays.

With 20 minutes to go, Hall moved centrebacks Morgan Lloyd and Lily Auckram into attacking roles, and they scored three goals between them.

The goal scorers were Lizzie Hall (4), Larisa Allan (3), Lily Auckram (2), Morgan Lloyd, Renae Lolohea and Sophie Hemmington.
