IT has already been a big year for Brezz’n Darts Club member Tahuna Irwin.

This month he won the men’s singles title at the New Zealand Darts Council nationals in Motueka. He is understood to be the youngest winner of the title.

He also took the award for most consistent men’s player for the week-long tournament.

And the icing on the cake was Irwin’s inclusion in the New Zealand men’s team to compete in the world cup tournament being held in Japan in October.

He will play alongside New Zealand No.1 Cody Harris, Greg Moss and Mark Cleaver.

These latest accolades follow Irwin’s success at the Clubs New Zealand tournament in Porirua in June, where he won the men’s singles title.

Over 400 darts players took part in the darts council nationals in Motueka last week.

Irwin was not the only Brezz’n club member to taste success at the nationals.

Tyson Eyles, Toby Ratapu and Tahuna were selected in the men’s tournament teams, and Willie and Lynmarie Edwards were selected as tournament team managers.
