Badminton Eastland’s super veterans will host teams from four provinces in Gisborne on Saturday.

Ties will be played at the Badminton Centre from 9.30am.

Eastland have already travelled to Feilding this year. After the effects of Covid-19 on last year’s competition, players are pleased to see a continuing return to relative normality.

Eastland will host teams from Oroua, Hawke’s Bay, Bay of Plenty and Auckland.

Bay of Plenty lead the competition, with Hawke’s Bay second.

Eastland will be playing at 9.30am and about 1.30pm, with a bye in the 11.30am slot.

Eastland team members are Kevin Lee and Kahu Brown (Gisborne Badminton Club), Ron Prebble, Alan Ledger, Linda White, Annabel Riwaka and Ruth Ledger (all from the Patutahi club), and Matheus Batlajeri, a loan player from Manawatu.

Alan Ledger makes his debut for the Eastland super veterans’ team after last representing Eastland in the veterans’ team in 2016. Bruce Ledger is unavailable to play due to injury.
