THE Poverty Bay Bowling Club women's open fours championship was won by Betty Herring (skip), Kathryn Flaugere (director), June Stichbury (two) and Jean Patterson (lead).
In the final, they defeated Dawne Abraham (s), Kathy Carroll (d), Lesley Holmes (two) and Kandyce Bevan (l), who had a bye at
the semifinal stage.
Three teams — each with one life intact — had reached the semifinals.
In their semifinal, Herring's team defeated Joy Davis (s), Anita Vaotuua (d), Cheryl Jenkins (two) and Ngawai Turipa (l).
