GISBORNE gymnasts Lily Rolls and Charlie Keepa brought home all-round gold medals from the Hastings Gymnastics Junior Ribbon Competition last weekend.

It was Lily’s third competition, and winning the all-round honours in Step 1 was an outstanding achievement, Gisborne Gymnastics Club head coach Nicola Ludwig said.

“She is one of those gymnasts you don’t need to ask to practise,” Ludwig said.

“She practises not just until she gets the skill right; she practises until she can’t get it wrong.”

Charlie, who won the all-round honours in Step 2, had competed last year and was a determined gymnast keen to learn the harder tricks as soon as possible.
