Gisborne Intermediate made its medal mark on the AIMS Games International Sporting Championships in the Bay of Plenty.
Gis Int students returned home with a swag of medals led by an outstanding performance by indoor bowler Dylan Foster. Dylan topped 300 students to win the singles title, then joined forces
with Kayla Trowell to add the 2018 pairs title to that he won with Kayla’s brother Nathan last year.
Dylan was also named Gis Int’s player of the tournament and capped a fine Games performance by being presented with a sportsmanship medal.
He and Kayla were also second for the top overall indoor bowls school trophy, which was won by Ilminster Intermediate.
Schoolmate Jodiesha Kirkpatrick also had a memorable time at the Games, collecting multiple medals in swimming and placing second overall for points for Division 2 girls.
