DEFENDING champions Tatapouri Sportsfit and newcomers IMS HSOG Masters will decide the A grade champions of Gisborne netball at the Victoria Domain courts on Saturday.

The Masters, in their first season in the grade, booked a spot in the final with a 31-19 defeat of Whalis last weekend.

Tatapouri had already earned the other final berth in beating Masters by five goals the previous weekend.

The final is on court 2 at 11am.

YMP (2) beat Thistle Spirit 18-17 in a nail-biting A reserve elimination semifinal on Saturday and will face Whatatutu in the final on court 2 at 10am.

Whatatutu beat Thistle 29-22 to advance directly to the final.

Claydens Waikohu (2) powered into the 1st grade final with a 25-11 disposal of Lytton Junior A.

Their opponents in the final on court 1 at 11am are Gisborne Girls’ High 10A, who pipped Waikohu 23-21 in the top-two semifinal two weeks ago.

The 1st reserve and second grades, each comprising six teams, do not have finals. Instead, each grade has had a third points round.

Both grades, however, are going down to the wire.

Air Gisborne HSOG lead 1st reserve on 46 points, three ahead of YMP Manawanui.

These teams meet on court 2 at 9am.

Sugar & Spice are top of the second grade on 50 points, with GGHS (3) on 47.

They face off at at 10am on court 5.

Secondary, A grade: Campion Snr B from GGHS TSA.

B grade: YMP Tahi from Campion Gold.

C grade: Uawa Hard from GGHS Kikorangi.

Intermediate, A grade: Ilminster Y8A from Whangara Pango.

B grade: Ilminster Kaahu from OBM Phoenix.

C grade: TKAS Hine Ariki from YMP Toru.

PRIMARY, A grade: Kaiti Kiwis from Awapuni Silver Ferns.

B grade: Central Magic from NUAM Katuarehe.

C grade: Eastland Vets Ngatapa (4) from Elgin Tuakana.
