THE Poverty Bay Polo Open was played at the sun-baked Bushmere polo grounds over the Auckland Anniversary Weekend.
Hawke’s Bay A defeated PB Harvest Transport 6-5 in a thrilling Challenge Cup final in the 3-goal division, while Kirkpatrick Farm Feeds defeated Wanstead in the Waiapu Cup handicap final.
In the
0-goal section, Bayleys needed extra time against BNZ to claim the Sherratt Cup, while the Pittar Cup handicap title when to Farmlands over Wanstead B.
The wooden spoon final was won by Ballance Agri-Nutrients over Hawke’s Bay B.
Best senior pony was Cody Clark’s Babe, best junior pony was Fern McIldowie’s Incy, Aaron Vowles had the champion team of ponies and Cody Jones was named player of the tournament.
