Beef + Lamb New Zealand is running a Wormwise in Action field day on the East Coast next month.

The interactive day will give farmers the chance to hear from the Livestock Parasite Management Group about implementing key principles of sustainable worm control through grazing management.

This event is being held by B+LNZ MAB Gisborne and Tairāwhiti Whenua Collective.

“Greg Tattersfield will be on hand to explain how changes in grazing management and use of forage crops can disrupt the worm life cycle and reduce pasture contamination,” B+LNZ extension manager Ali Forbes said.

“The field day will be for all levels and will include core internal parasite principles.”

It will be staged on Thursday, January 22, from 9am till midday at Tim and Lucy Jefferd’s Te Rimu Station at Tauwhareparae Rd, Tolaga Bay.

Those attending are to meet at the old Ratanui bull shed and are asked to park to the left as they enter the driveway.

4WD utes are required for the farm tour, no quads. Lunch will be provided by Tairāwhiti Whenua Collective.
