The clean-up of debris on the city beaches brought in by the weekend storm was likely to begin today or tomorrow, with contractors to initially clear driftwood away from in front of the Waikanae and Midway surflife saving clubs.
The council yesterday said the plan was to have those two
sections of the beach cleared of debris by the weekend.
A council spokesperson said an update on when the clean-up of the remainder of the main city beachfront could start may be provided today.
