A Gisborne woman has been charged with accessing a computer system to steal about $150,000.

The 48-year-old, who has interim name suppression, faces 14 charges alleging single incidents between November 2018 and September of last year, each involving thousands of dollars. Amounts escalated as the alleged offending progressed.

She made a preliminary appearance in Gisborne District Court this week. Her case will be called again at a registrar's list on April 1.
