Opinion
I was disappointed that you would give so much breath to Richard Prebble in our great little paper on the last day of a horrible year that was 2020, dominated by Covid-19.
Prebble would always relish any chance to criticise the Labour Government, despite the fact that he himself was
a Labour MP from 1975 to 1993.
He was obviously an imposter as, three years after that he popped up as leader of the Act Party. How a leopard can change his spots!
He, along with all of us, should be grateful that he is safe and well and, if he believes that the Government has been incompetent, why doesn't he shove off to Britain or America for an extended holiday?
I am old enough to remember him hanging out a door of the railcar as it pulled into the Wairoa railway station before the 1984 election yelling “Save rail, Save rail”— a campaign that was an act of treachery with far-reaching consequences that are still apparent on our East Coast.
