Another 70,000 electors cast their vote on Tuesday, day two of early voting for the general election.

The total of 71,134 votes was down on the 101,438 votes cast on the second day of the 2020 election, but up on the 48,238 votes cast on the same day of the 2017 election.

The Electoral Commission has announced that about 2 million of more than 3.4 million EasyVote packs have been sent out to voters.

The remainder are expected to be delivered in the coming days.

“You can vote with or without your EasyVote card. voting is easy and only takes about five minutes,” said Chief Electoral Officer Karl Le Quesne.
