Beef + Lamb New Zealand will stage what they have billed as the “Meat and Mingle” community wellbeing event for Ūawa at Mangaheia Station at Tolaga Bay later this month.

B+LNZ Māori Agribusiness Adviser Pania King said the gathering was a well-deserved one for the farmers and their whānau from the Ūawa area. “It’s been a tough year for all and we are proud to celebrate the hard mahi and resilience of the rural Ūawa community,” she said.

“I’m looking forward to connecting with farmers and whānau from there.”

On December 14 from 2.30pm onwards, there will be a butchery demonstration session. The demonstration will cover techniques like boning, rolling and cutting then breaking down a mutton for sausage making.

“It will also include specialist support and advice, prizes and giveaways, refreshments and wellbeing checks,” Mrs King said.
