Emergency services responded to two vehicle crashes in the city at the weekend.

One car ended up on its roof in one incident.

A car struck a power pole in the other.

No one was injured in either incident.

The first crash happened on Friday night when a ute struck a concrete power pole in Lytton Road near Munro Street.

“The two people in it were checked over by St John ambulance officers,” said an emergency service spokesman.

“Fortunately the 50kV powerlines above the ute remained suspended.”

The wrecked pole was replaced on Sunday by faults staff.

In the second crash at around 10pm on Saturday night, two cars collided in Rutene Road near the William Pettie Bridge.

“One of the vehicles ended up on its roof,” the emergency services spokesman said.
