The Poverty Bay A&P Association has awarded its annual scholarship and due to the high calibre of applicants this year, two have been awarded.
Each receives $2000.
“To qualify for our scholarship the applicant has to be entering their first year of tertiary studies in the primary industries sector,” PBA&P Association general manager Erica McNeil.
“This year our two lucky recipients are Bradley Anderson and Samara McLeod.”
Former Gisborne Girls’ High student Samara is studying for a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree at Massey University.
“I’m very honoured and grateful to receive it and my thanks to the Show association for supporting me and believing in me,” she said.
Former Campion College student Bradley has started his studies at the Smedley Station and Cadet Training Farm centre in Hawke’s Bay.
“I’m stoked to have received this support, and thanks to the Show association. It’s really going to help me, paying for a lot of gear and helping set me up for my future in farming.”
