Re: Smash Palace co-owner bemoans night-time transport options, April 16 story.
That is the whole reason I don’t go out; the taxis are so unreliable. They don’t come, and when they do, they charge the Earth. It has killed the night life in Gisborne. I would go to Smash often —
it’s the transport that has buggered everything. Very sad.
This town rocked in the ‘80s.
The River Bar, DB, Sandown had bands most weekends; the Record Reign, the Royal, Tatapouri at the beach and The Jolly Stockman — all great places to go.
Get a team of shuttles running $5 a trip for groups, and an office manager to run this service.
