TURIROA Angus near Wairoa enjoyed a total clearance of their line of rising two-year-old bulls on Wednesday afternoon and achieved a top price of $15,000 for an animal sold to stud.
The Powdrells’ sale wrapped up a very successful Angus Bull Week in the Gisborne-Wairoa district.
The stud put up
47 and sold the lot for an average of $7755. The top-priced animal was purchased by the Merchiston Angus Stud from Hunterville.
Turiroa studmaster Andrew Powdrell said the sale result was very pleasing.
“It was solid right to the end and it was good to see many bulls in the affordable price bracket of the $5000 to $7000 range,” Mr Powdrell said.
