“I have been assured the majority of Hawke's Bay cases are returned overseas travellers and have all done the right thing by self-isolating on their return,” Mr Little said in a statement.
“The numbers will not be broken down any further, to protect the identities of people with Covid-19.
“Now is not the time for keyboard warriors and unnecessary hurtful comments,” Mr Little said.
“Now is this time for compassion and kindness.
“Regardless of who has Covid-19, or where they live, the very best advice is to stay home, stay in your bubble and follow the precautions we are being given in order to stay safe”
Mr Little said people should only travel if they absolutely needed to and should always maintain a two-metre physical distance.
“Staying home is the only way to break the Covid-19 chain of transmission and save lives. Covid-19 will only spread if we allow it to.
“Stay home and stay safe.”
