Gisborne “Swifties” should make sure they get along to the unofficial tribute show Taylor: A Tribute to the Eras of Taylor Swift this Wednesday at the War Memorial Theatre.
Christchurch singer Josette has been touring around South Africa, Canada and Australia, and has now brought her show to herhome country for a 12-venue tour.
She delivers renditions of Swift hits like Shake It Off, Anti-Hero, Cruel Summer, You Belong With Me, Love Story, I Knew You Were Trouble, Blank Space, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, Bad Blood, Our Song, Lover and others.
I attended the show at the Bruce Mason Centre in Takapuna, Auckland, on Saturday and saw Swift fans from under 10 to retirees getting into the spirit of the music.
Josette performs with a full band and is a sound-alike and look-alike of Swift, with costumes recreating the superstar’s mammoth Eras Tour that until recently was performed in stadiums around the world.
Josette’s Auckland show was remarkably alike in sound, costume and the live experience, but in much smaller theatres like the one I caught at the Bruce Mason Centre.

If you have a young (or not so young) Swiftie in your family, don’t miss out on this chance to see these songs performed live, as Josette’s voice is impressively similar to the real deal.
Young ones in particular will love the show, as afterwards Josette comes out to meet everyone for photos and autographs.
Josette and her band and dancers may not be the real thing, but they are close enough.
The Auckland audience members also got in the spirit of dressing in Swift-themed attire from her Eras Tour, with little ones swapping friendship bracelets ... just like at the real tour.
Those who have been a fan of Swift from her early days (she began as a teen around 20 years ago) will love this show, as Josette plays hits new and old. Fans can’t go wrong.
Tickets are available through Ticketek or the i-Site in Gisborne.
