A109 Light Utility Helicopter flight with mayor Gisborne City from the air in November 2023.

A109 Light Utility Helicopter flight with mayor Gisborne City from the air in November 2023.

Referencing Simin Williams’ response to the advice to “take a break and breathe deep”, in her letter of Thursday, June 15.

What would you call someone whose obsession with Jacinda Ardern, attributes to her all the woes of the country?

What would you call someone who appears to depend almost entirely on flaky information sourced from the internet?

What would you call someone who appears to believe this country used to have perfect health, housing, education systems, a thriving business sector, low interest rates;  no poverty . . . but umpteen horrors supposedly inflicted by that Wicked Witch of the West, Jacinda?

We certainly do not have to look overseas for psychopaths and sociopaths!  Incidentally, Jacinda’s apparently unforgiveable claim to be a single source of truth is a statement taken completely out of context: it was a reference to her reasonable and expected response to the Covid crisis as she scrupulously kept the nation informed on all measures taken in an attempt to contain it.

I could — as Simin Williams puts it — go on,  but this will do for now and for the future, since it is pointless to continually pour spleen through these columns in an attempt to kick-start yet another pointless wrangle. Take a break, breathe deep indeed!

For far too long similar shrieks of outrage have sullied these columns as old familiars among these correspondents make futile attempts to persuade Gisborne Herald readers that each believes themselves to be, “the single source of truth”.

Thin ice to merely skate over but a crack up when plodded across in Size 12 boots.
