Opinion
We at the Women's Institute would like to thank the great Gisborne and Wairoa community for the lovely letters, emails and phone calls for our National Women's Institute Awareness Month, starting with the biscuit drop to our seniors. Thanks to our members for baking and delivering — we could do
more flats than last year due to the great response.
Next, the A&P Show — the happy faces when we manned the front foyer at the Event Centre and the lovely well-mannered young people who tried to guess the number of sweets in the jar. We were glad the little girl came for her lost bag.
Our final event is The Wahine Expo this Sunday, October 30 at Lawson Field Rose Room 11am to 2pm where we hope to take our biscuit give-away to over 1000.
Come and see us and enter the free lucky draw. We will also be selling knitting, cards and fudge. Please bring cash as we don't have eftpos.
We must give special thanks to you, our Gisborne Herald, for the wonderful support you give us, the Poverty Bay Wairoa Federation of Women's Institute.
