Tickets are still available for this weekend’s Summer Frequencies music event which the promoter says is one of the most affordable festivals in New Zealand.

Headline acts include Kora and Australian hip hop band HP Boyz from Melbourne as well as old school favourites like Herbs and Annie Crummer.

The festival runs over the weekend with a special VIP pre-party taking place on Friday from 5pm featuring headline act R&B and soul artist Alo Key from the United States.

More than 1500 tickets have already been sold and event organisers are expecting the remaining tickets to sell in the next couple of days.

Organsier Davy Faaupio is expecting it to be an excellent weekend which will also feature some of Aotearoa’s top acts like Adeaze and Aaradhna, DJ Noiz and Maisey Rika.

Audiences can expect a laidback vibe with reggae, soul and hip hop on the programme.

“Our VIP tickets are selling fast so people need to be quick,” Faaupio said.

This is the third year Summer Frequencies has been held at the Soundshell in Gisborne and it has become a popular favourite on the events calendar.
