Clearances were very good at the Mokairau and Wilencote Hereford sales on Wednesday and some good money was paid for the more sought after young bulls. Mokairau and Wilencote Hereford studs enjoyed almost total clearances in their rising two-year-old bull sales this week and it augurs well for how well the Angus sales will go towards the end of the month.

Both studs realised healthy averages across their sales with close to 50 bulls sold between them.

Mokairau sales details as follows — Holdsworth Patingahau $9000, $6000, $9000; Arakihi Station $8500; Treble B Trust $6800; JB Byrne Partnership $6000; Brown Family Farming $9000, $5500; CR Nelson $10,500, $6500; JA Broad $10,000; Te Runanga o Turanganui a Kiwa $4500, $4500; Raroa Station $6000, $7000; Pukeroa Station $11,000; PGG Wrightson as agents $7000, $9500, $7500.

Wilencote sales details —  Okare Station $11,500, $7500, $7000; Sunworth Ltd $11,500, $11,500; Poututu Station $13,000, $11,000, $13,000; DM Coop partnership $10,500, $10,500, $11,500, $10,000, $6000; Pukemata Station $10,500, $5000; Ranganui Farming $11,000, $12,500; Papuni Station $10,000; GM Williams $9000; Totangi Farm $8000, $8500; Piritaha Partnership $5000; Kupenga Ltd $5500; Taupai Station $9000; Aerial Station $7500; GS Willock $9000: Gisborne Paddock account $11,000.
