I am quite sure that over 90 percent of ratepayers will agree with me when I strongly disagree with the council spending any of our rates on providing parks for boat trailers at the port.
When Tatapouri Fishing Club shifted into town they did not even provide a carpark for
the bar patrons, let alone 200 parks for 100 boat trailers plus the towing vehicle. Where on earth do the boaties think the council is going to find a hectare of open space for this boat park?
To say the club was short-sighted in shifting to a boat ramp in the centre of town, 200 metres from the main street, is a gross understatement. The parking problem was obvious from the start.
So please don’t go whining to the council to fix your self-inflicted problem.
