Waioeka Bridge in Opotiki will get new paint and a clean over Labour weekend.

Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) advises works will be carried out between 7pm and 5am tomorrow, and on Saturday and Sunday nights to minimise the impact on motorists.

During this time the bridge will be reduced to a single lane with stop/go traffic management in place.

Both lanes will be open during the day.

The bridge will be closed to over-dimension vehicles between 6pm and 6am tomorrow and on Saturday and Sunday nights.

Over-dimension vehicles will need to restrict their travel on this route to outside these hours or consider an alternative route.

There will be no works on Monday night and the bridge will operate as normal.

Overnight works will recommence on Tuesday, October 29 from 6pm, with the work due to be completed in mid-November.
