Rennie Pearson plays traditional music from Ireland, Scotland and the maritimes of Canada. He is performing in Gisborne on February 2.

Rennie Pearson will bring the timeless beauty of Celtic music to a Gisborne audience next month.

He will be playing at Smash Palace from 3pm on Sunday, February 2.

His music is described as “blending centuries-old melodies with vibrant energy and artistry”.

Audiences can expect “soaring flute melodies, toe-tapping jigs and reels, heart-wrenching slow airs, and captivating storytelling”.

Pearson plays a range of instruments - wooden flute, guitar, Irish tin whistle, bodhrán and fiddle.

“This performance is about celebrating the magic of Celtic music and connecting with Gisborne’s vibrant community,” Pearson said. “I’m thrilled to bring this music and storytelling tradition to such a beautiful venue.”

The Gisborne gig is part of Pearson’s North Island tour, which starts at Waiheke Island on January 23 and features 11 concerts.
