Children, parents and teachers at Sonrise Christian Pre-School have celebrated an “absolutely wonderful” 10th birthday.

This month marks a decade of operation for the pre-school and the milestone was marked this week with a fun day of pony rides, bouncy castle fun and, of course, cake.

Kingdom Kids and Education Trust board chairwoman Caroline Cave praised the work of Alison and Ken McFarlane who allowed the land in Nelson Road to be used for the pre-school.

“It was their vision to have a pre-school here . . . they had the land and we brought the teachers.”

Since it opened in 2010, the pre-school has had a roll of 37 children, ranging in age from 2 to 5 years.
