Re: Explicit details of sex life exposed in trial, August 15 story.

What is wrong with our justice system? A man attempts to rape a woman, she presses charges, he hires a high-priced lawyer. The complainant ends up being torn to shreds on the stand and made out to be the liar.

So, in this case the accused’s defence was one of a highly-sexualised relationship which involved rough role play. Really? What a clever way to get away with attempted rape. In regards to dirty messages sent, so what? So what if she had sent thousands of dirty messages, does that mean she was asking to be attacked? Does that mean in a now very digital online world we have no chance of being believed if something like this is to happen to us?

This is the reason women don’t come forward when this happens to them. Who in their right mind would put themselves through such an ordeal just to watch their attacker get away with it.

When will our justice system change and become fair for all involved?
