A109 Light Utility Helicopter flight with mayor Gisborne City from the air in November 2023.

I wish to congratulate the doctors, nurses and staff of Gisborne Hospital who are involved in helping those who are in real need of help.

My wife, son and I tested Covid-positive recently and with only one lung these past 14 years, I have to be very careful to survive. I was directed into total isolation.

The people I see at the hospital working at all hours are special people who give their lifetimes to caring for us all.

We cannot escape how our health will deteriorate as we grow older. But family members can rest assured our hospital and its people are high-quality — easily the best of several hospitals I have been to in New Zealand. I have also travelled the world in my previous exporting job, so have strong feelings on this matter.
