Turanganui-a-Kiwa Poverty Bay was a picture on Tuesday when the Silver Muse came calling for the third time this cruise ship season.

She brought 558 passengers to Gisborne for the day.

The ship was last here early January.

“Conditions for the visit were beautiful,” a ship’s agent said.

Passengers went on the steam train Wa165, visited wineries and enjoyed cycle tours.

“We had a mixture of nationalities on board - people from the USA and Europe and some from the Bahamas.”

The Silver Muse arrived from Tauranga and sailed for Napier at the end of the day.

Still to come this season is the 680-passenger ship Regatta for two visits - February 22 and February 26.
