Entries for the competition side of the annual Poverty Bay A and P Association Spring Show next month look very healthy in general and the trade spaces for the event have now all been taken up.

Show organisers said they were very pleased with the demand for trade space, and pleased to report that it has all been filled.

Entries for most of the competition classes have now closed.

The dog trial entry stands at 197, which is down slightly on the last time the show was run, in 2020.

The Home Industries section has 1548 entries, also down a little on last time.

There will be 54 goat entries, described as very good, in what will be their 40th year celebration as part of the Show.

There have been 138 entries in the dancing, and 140 in the chopping, again described as very good.

The shearing and equestrian entries have not closed yet.

Horse and pony entries close on September 27, and many in the shearing section of the Show enter on the day.

Most of the livestock entries come in nearer the time too, if not on the day.

“Overall we are very pleased wih the number of entries across all classes,” a Show spokeswoman said.
