Contractors have completed the major part of the second beach clean up on the city beach front from The Cut to past Midway.
What was driftwood debris-strewn sand just over a week ago has now been transformed back into a pristine playground.
The council approved an unbudgeted amount of close
to $122,000 for the work and Siteworx Civil Ltd carried it out.
The council indicated the work would be done “swiftly” and that has proven to be the case much to the delight of beach goers.
The council's acting director liveable communities De-Arne Sutherland said contractors will continue their work for the next few days.
