Police have repeated their plea for information about the whereabouts of a missing Gisborne teenager as searches continue on land and along the city foreshore for him.

Kymani, 17, was last seen near the Midway surf club on February 1.

The police and his family have expressed their concerns for his wellbeing.

Kymani has long, curly brown hair and light facial hair.

He was wearing a black T-shirt, blue jean shorts and a greenstone necklace when he was last seen.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call police on 111 and use the reference number 260203/1673.

“If you have information that may assist in locating him please make a report via 105,” police said.

Police have carried out shoreline searches along the city beaches. The Coastguard were involved in a sea search along the city beaches on Waitangi Day.

The Coastguard boat had Royal New Zealand Navy personnel with specialist sonar equipment on board.

They searched for about eight hours.

On Saturday, police and Search and Rescue reviewed the search and identified areas to revisit.

The search efforts continued that afternoon.

Searches have also been done around the Adventure Playground and other areas near Midway.
