Sarge owners and GDC reach settlement

The Gisborne owners of the dog mistakenly put down and Gisborne District Council say they have resolved the matter, issuing a joint statement yesterday afternoon.

“Sarge’s owners and Gisborne District Council have settled the matter between them,” the statement read.

“Sarge’s owners and whānau acknowledge the outpouring of grief and support from the community but they would like to move on and ask for privacy and community calm.

“No further comment will be made.”
