A109 Light Utility Helicopter flight with mayor Gisborne City from the air in November 2023.

After 45 years of subscribing to The Gisborne Herald, I have cancelled my subscription. I am 85 years old and probably set in my ways. I am easily written off as pale, pink, aged and cis male. I can no longer stomach the rudeness and intolerance being shown by correspondents, against people simply expressing their opinion. Civility and politeness cost nothing. It must be quite satisfying to be so confident of your opinions that you can attack the messenger with impunity. It would seem almost anything goes. To quote from the 1961 musical — “Stop the world, I want to get off”. Thank you for your publications over the years.
