Rubbish surprise . . .

I have lived in Ayton Street, in Mangapapa, for the past five years and our rubbish collection has always been in the afternoon. This last collection on Thursday had the rubbish truck pass by our house at 7.15am, which caught the majority of residents completely by surprise — hence much garbage uncollected.

On discussing this with the council I was told, and very much to the suprise of the local residents, that rubbish bags must be on the roadside prior to 7am. Why oh why can’t this collection system be organised to a timetable?
