Police have named the two people that died after a crash near Rotorua earlier this month.

They were Gisborne man Saul Rerekura, 42, and Rotorua woman Taukirangi Hewitt, 32.

Emergency services were called to the two-vehicle crash on State Highway 30 at Tikitere early on January 15.

Police are investigating the crash and seeking CCTV or dashcam footage of a green Honda Spike, registration HBS903, between Fenton St in Rotorua and Curtis Rd/SH30 Tikitere, between 2am and 4.20am on January 15.
