I am disappointed in the amount of rubbish on the side of Awapuni Road. Old beds, couches, umbrellas, plastic by the mile, Mcdonald’s leftovers — in fact, whatever you can think of seems to arrive at one time or another.

Awapuni Road is a main entrance to Gisborne and it is a disgrace and an eyesore. It needs cleaning up. The people who throw rubbish out or let it be blown off utes and trucks need to take some pride in their town.

Some of us mow and try to keep it tidy, and immediately after picking up — more starts arriving.

We have parking meter people, maybe we need rubbish police.

I would like to suggest the council arrange a monthly clean-up. I would, but you need to cone it as Awapuni is busy and vehicles are travelling fast.
