A MAN was flown to hospital by rescue helicopter after he fell from the roof of a property at Te Araroa on Monday.

The Trust Tairawhiti Rescue Helicopter crew were sent to the scene at around 11.20am.

The man, aged 51, suffered rib injuries and the chopper's intensive care paramedic assessed him at the scene, a spokeswoman said.

He was flown to Gisborne Hospital where he was further assessed and treated in the Emergency Department, then discharged.
