Water restrictions have been lifted this morning now city reservoirs have been replenished to a good level.

A Gisborne District Council spokeswoman said this followed “a fantastic effort” by the community to conserve water over the past few days, after a leak was discovered in the main water supply pipeline last week.

“While the dam levels are fairly high for this time of year and the reservoirs are refilled, conservation remains key to avoid future restrictions,” she said.
