Wainui Beach School Students participate in the cross-country run. Pictures by Liam Clayton

Year 5 girls from Wainui Beach School set off on the annual cross-country run through Okitu Reserve this week.

Principal Nolian Andrew said the pupils gave 100 percent effort.

“It went really well. One of the things I’m particularly proud of is none of our kids give up. They just do their best.”

Holding the event at Okitu Reserve was just beautiful, she said.

“And we had great parent support and the weather was great.”
