These 35 store ram and wether store Wiltshire lambs from Arakihi Station, at Tolaga Bay, topped that section of the weekly sheep sale at the Matawhero saleyards yesterday morning. They sold for $74.Picture by Trevor Brown

Prices remained depressed at the weekly Matawhero sheep sale yesterday where 1423 sheep were sold, including 1379 store lambs.

The average price paid for these store lambs was $59.40.

The better lambs were not as big as those sold from Waitangi Terrace Station last week.

The top price of $74 for the store male lambs was shared between Arakihi Station, at Tolaga Bay and Kerley Agriculture Ltd, at Kanakanaia.

The Arakihi Station lambs were Wiltshires and the Kerley Agriculture Ltd lambs were black face.

In the prime pens Marshlands sold two freshly cut two-tooth ewes for $110.

Sstore male lambs: Arakihi Station, 35, $74, 167, $70, 379, $56, 178, $46; Kerley Agriculture Ltd, 62, $74, 116, $68, 54, $61; JK Drummond, 5, $45.
