“We also honour all who have served in the armed forces and emergency services in any capacity.
“The RSA would like to extend a warm welcome to all ex and current service personnel including police, fire service, St John, emergency services and the general public to join us at this service.”
The commemoration will consist of a parade of ex and current service personnel, emergency services personnel and cadet forces who will assemble at Plumbing World at 10.50am.
They will march to the RSA clubrooms led by the City of Gisborne Highland Pipe Band where a short service and wreath laying will be held.
The Gisborne Civic Band and Salvation Army Band will accompany the National Anthem and hymns.
The guest speaker is retired New Zealand Defence Force warrant officer Dennis Weir.
The traditional flypast will involve aircraft from the Gisborne Aero Club and Darton Field Aviation Trust.
After the service, light refreshments will be served at the RSA.
