The Home Industries section at the A&P Spring Show next month has attracted 1100 entries this year and the dog trials 203 as the clock ticks for the closing of  entries in several other categories.

Show Association general manager Erica McNeil said while the Home Industries numbers were down a bit on last year, it was still great.

“Likewise we’ve once again got great support from the dog trial fraternity.”

The National dancing, shearing, wood chopping and dairy goats all close this Friday.

“We got good numbers in those four classes as well so far,” Mrs McNeil said.

Equestrian have a couple more weeks to go, with entries in that section to close on September 26.

“They’re coming in slowly. However, judging from previous years many entries come in a day prior to the closing date.”

Mrs McNeil said they have been getting inquiries from new exhibitors daily, about trade space.

“That’s great to see. We’ve been getting good support in the trades, with only a few sites left.

“Anyone interested should contact us.

“The lovely, sunny spring weather is great to see, drying out the grounds well, and we look forward to the same lovely spring weather come Show weekend.”

The annual town and country get-together runs from October 12-14.
