A free surfing event at Northern Makorori on Saturday is designed to get kids and their families to the beach to have fun, says organiser Tommy Dalton.

“There are loads of spot prizes for all participants and people can register on the day,” he says.

This is a chance for kids and their parents to give surfing a go and build up some confidence.

The focus of the event is that it is for all abilities and it’s a great way to kick off the summer, says Haley Dalton.

“There will be a sausage sizzle and drinks.”
