One person has died following a water-related incident in Hicks Bay, East Cape.

One person has died following a water-related incident in Hicks Bay, East Cape.

A police spokesperson said emergency services were called to a Te Araroa Rd address just before 4pm.

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said they sent two first responder units and a transportation unit to the scene just before 5pm.

“You will need to refer to police for more information.”

Police said the death would be referred to the coroner.
